A Christmas Princess

6 months old - probably one of my favourite ages!
This little Princess was SO adorable in her Christmas Dress! Her fascination with the big ornaments and gifts was absolutely priceless!  She made silly faces (which Mom exclaimed "OH! That's SO her!" when I caught it) and sweet sincere faces.  She had us laughing as she slouched and relaxed in the baskets, and nearly tipped them from leaning back (Baby Safety: Mom's hands were right there to stop it from tipping!)
For a Mini Session, it was jam packed with variety!

Vintage Maternity - Steinbach Photographer

This Mama taught me something during her session, something I didn't even realize I was saying wrong.  If something is "Retro" it means it's from the 1980s.  If something is "Vintage" it's from the 50's or 60's.  If something is "Antique", it means it's over 100 years old.
Did you know that?

So my gut reaction is to call this a "retro themed" maternity session (which I think I did on Facebook - oops!) it's actually "VINTAGE".

And, while I'm used to working my creative muscle is coming up with original photos - recreating posts this Mom-to-be (for the 3rd time) brought in was a fun little deviation from the norm.

Mr. Hudson came to see me for his first birthday photos ON his actual birthday!  How special is that?!  I simply loved photographing this little guy, he is just too cute!

Hi there! Thanks for taking a few minutes to check out my blog!  

Jenn Vogt Photography has been active for years, over 20 in fact!  Much of it was done as a hobby the first years, to learn and grow, and simply because I love everything about photos!

I am based out of Steinbach Manitoba, and mostly serve the South East region of the Province.

With experience in Family, Engagement, Wedding, Maternity, Newborn, Toddlers, Grad, etc.  I can offer a wide variety of looks and styles to suit almost everyone.  

With the Studio opening is 2010, a permanent home was created for all the lighting, backdrops, and props I so love to collect and use in my work.  The studio is a home studio, which means that I am available very flexible hours, which accommodates my clients' schedules wonderfully. 

Married 20 years to my high school sweetheart, and as a Mom of 2 boys, both in their teenage years, I know how precious those chubby little baby faces are, how wanted those family photos are, and how important it is to have those memories in photos to look back on.  Time goes by so fast, and you may never get that chance to photograph that time in life again.

With patience, a sense of humor, and a laid-back attitude, I strive to make each session enjoyable and comfortable for everyone ... and with beautiful results.  I hope my photos will speak for themselves as you scroll through my blog posts and my Facebook page (click HERE to see Facebook page).  I honestly love what I do, and I am blessed to be able to do it.

Steinbach Newborn Photographer - Miss Zoe

Miss Zoe came to the studio at 5.5 days new!! ... heaven for this photographer!! So sweet and fresh - and awake! lol!  In some ways, it's great when babies are wide awake, it means I get to snuggle with them a little more, in the effort to put them to sleep.  Miss Zoe was wonderful for that. She was perfectly happy to be held.
We got some gorgeous family photos, and some with her big sisters and then Dad brought the big girls home while Mom and I worked on getting some beautiful sleeping pictures of baby.  Zoe, had other ideas.  LOL!  In the end, Mom and I won and Miss Zoe fell lightly asleep.  Every time I moved her, she woke up and we redid the dance of getting her back to sleep ... I think I love the photos even more knowing how patient we had to be to get them.  It was so worth it! :)

Steinbach Family Photographer -The Dueck Family

 I hadn't seen this baby girls since her newborn photo session!  Obviously she had changed A LOT, and it was so fun to see her cute smiles and chubby cheeks!  She was SO good through the family photos, happily kicking her boots off all the time! lol!

Steinbach Photographer - The Austman Family

Sometimes doing photos for family is hard thing.  I know my "subjects" so well that it's hard for me to see them creatively.  It's never the case with my sister-in-law and brother-in-law though.  She always has them dressed as though they just came from a magazine shoot (love it!) and have fun ideas as well.  I always enjoy photographing them!

Steinbach Photographer -The Bartel Family

This session got rescheduled THREE times before we finally had an "ok" day.  And I do mean just ok. It was overcast and cold, and even drizzled with rain through some of it...  I'm so glad they may the call to go ahead with it despite the icky feel outside.  The overcast skies were nice with the field's golds, and it certainly cut down on squinting.
