{Steinbach Photographer} A's Maternity Session

You would think that by the end of November, when we did these photos, we would have at least a dusting of snow still.  I mean, it's Manitoba after all, we have snow 9 months of the year sometimes (no, not really - 6 months, yes).
We had been discussing doing outdoor photos if the weather was mild enough. We certainly didn't expect to be adding blankets and hats for prop use only! We were actually quite warm doing the outdoor photos, and had to actively search for patches of snow big enough to give the effect we wanted!

{Steinbach Photographer} Mrs. D is having a baby!

My kids have both been lucky enough to have Mrs. D as their teacher for at least one subject.  And actually, my 8th grader was hugely disappointed she will be on Maternity Leave this year and his chance to be in her home room was gone.  I think it speaks volumes about a person when a teenager is disappointed you wont be in school
Her maternity session was fun and beautiful - very much like the person she is. And we beat the downpour of rain by minutes!
I cant wait to meet the sweet baby she's carrying!

{Steinbach Photographer} Motocross Maternity

Ok, this was a first for me... a motocross theme for maternity photos.  I love how they turned out!  The evening was ridiculously hot and humid, but these 2 were troopers with everything we did.  I cant wait to meet their sweet baby in a few weeks!

{Steinbach Photographer} Frozen!

This beautiful Mom and I had been planning a winter maternity session for months, and were so thrilled with how nice the weather was this year - but wouldnt you know it, the day of her session was in a cold snap!  Boo!
Well, she was determined to get her gorgeous outdoor photos and braved -35 windchill dressed in only a few layers.  I'm lucky in situations like this, I can bundle up all the way (minus my hands) since it doesn't matter what I look like ….but she was a trooper!  And I am so glad she wanted to do the outdoor shots, they are stunning!
We did more in the studio than originally planned, which is why I love having it.  It's such a great option for when the weather doesn't cooperate, or you dont want your kids to freeze along side of you ;)
