Steinbach Photographer - Alisha and Travis are Engaged!

I absolutely love the country/cowboy theme these photos have to them! Alisha and Travis are true "country folk", right down to Alisha barrel-racing with her horse Pluto, to Travis farming cattle.
My son Brad came with my on this session to be an extra set of hands (I love when it works for him to come along!) and we were both practically drooling over some of the items on the location where we did the photos.  We were like kids in a candy store! Brad was sooo in love with the old car ... I was beyond excited about the old buildings ... and horses... and bush... and truck...and ... and ....and ;)

Here are just a few of my favourites .... although I think every photo is a favorite from this session! ;)

Her engagement ring is a horse-shoe!! <3

School Portrait Days!

Wowza!!  To say I was 'busy' these two days would be an understatement! While I hoped for, and expected, some growth from last year's School Portrait Days, I was blown away that there was THIS much demand for it!
So, a HUGE thank you to the families who came and trusted me to do their child(ren)'s photos for this year.  I honestly enjoyed it so much!! I'm already looking forward to next year ... and thinking I need to add a third day!!

Backgrounds were the parents' choice ... it's neat to see how most gravitated to the same ones ... each child got 5 poses on 2 backgrounds.  And a group shot with all the kids in the family was an add on option for a small extra fee.

If this appeals to you more than the public school's way of photographing hundreds of kids in one day, keep an eye on my Facebook page next September to see when School Portrait Days will be held again.

Here are a just a few of the fun, cute, handsome, and beautiful kids that came through those day :)

Helena and Jeff

Do you remember that week or two of HOT, STICKY heat we had at the end of August?  Naturally, that's when my cousin and her family were able to come and visit from Alberta.  We were lucky enough to meet my cousin's boyfriend as well, as despite the heat and general "ick" of being outside, we spent a short while doing a little photo shoot for them.  The location is one of my favourites, so even with the "ick" of the day, the photos turned out really well!

Brothers are BEST!

I remember when my boys were the ages that these two cuties are,  and I can still hear them shouting and giggling when they were goofing around.  It was the sweetest thing ever.  I think I even did a scrapbook page with the title "Brothers are Best" for them.
These 2 little guys reminded me so much of my own boys at that age, and it was such a great time in the studio.  They had me smiling and laughing the whole time ... and I think their photos speak for themselves as to whether or not the boys enjoyed their time with me :)  Have a mentioned (lately) how much I love my job??

Football 2013

Ok, time out.  This is a Proud Mom post, so take that as fair warning for the gushing that will soon follow.
My boys are playing football this season.  I have to admit, I had my worries about injuries and such, but it's been fatastic, and they are really loving it.
AND, they look so stinkin' awesome in all that equipment (I'm not allowed to comment on how cute their little bums are in those pants, so I wont. ;)  I see them all geared up like this, and as much as I hate to admit it, I can kinda understand the attention they're getting from the girls already (*sigh* they're not my babies any more huh?)

The team hired a professional photographer for individual photos of each player for each team in every level (what an insane amount of work!), as well as a team photo, and I'm sure they'll be awesome (we totally ordered already), but it was only ONE pose, and likely ONE photo of each.  And given the fact that my boys are on different teams, there was no way a photo of them together would happen.

It's not like I really needed to bribe them to take more either ... they were totally up for it, with ideas of their own for how they wanted to pose.  Smiles.  No smiles.  Photoshopped names on their jerseys (they dont have them on them since they get reused next year and teams change with ages), etc.

I absolutely love these!

The Sawatzkys

This is the second session I've been able to do for this family.  I had so much fun the first time, and I had just as much the second.  They are just a fun group.  Laughing and easy to work with, and their kids are just so stinkin' cute and co-operative!

Scheper Family

This was a new location for me, and I gotta say ... wow!! Mom found a fantastic spot!!  With the evening light streaming through the trees, and a gorgeous beginning to a sunset ... I couldn't have asked for a more perfect spot for this beautiful family!
